How to check if an image was made with Sora
- OpenAI attaches C2PA Content Credentials to Sora videos, and its app adds a visible moving watermark.
- Upload the original MP4 and we scan it for a Content Credentials manifest that names OpenAI.
- Watermark-removal tools are widespread, so a missing watermark proves nothing. Check metadata, the source account and the earliest upload.
Visual signs of Sora content
Watch for objects that morph between frames, text that changes, impossible physics and hands or faces that blur during fast motion.
Visual clues are never conclusive on their own. Combine them with a metadata check and a reverse image search. See our full guide: how to tell if an image is AI-generated.
Sora detector FAQ
Can you detect Sora videos after the watermark is removed?
Sometimes. Removing the visible watermark does not always strip the Content Credentials, but re-encoding usually does.
