How to check if an image was made with Nano Banana (Gemini)
- Google marks images from Nano Banana and Gemini with SynthID, an invisible watermark. Since October 7, 2026 anyone can check it for free at synthid.com.
- Google also attaches provenance metadata to many of its generated images. Our scan reads any Content Credentials and IPTC AI tags in the file and names Google when found.
- For the strongest answer, run both: SynthID for the invisible watermark, and AIScan Lens for metadata and for tools SynthID does not cover.
